John Brandt, CPA
John R. Brandt, CPA is the President and sole stockholder of John Brandt SC CPA, a public
accounting firm with offices in New Berlin and Hales Corners, WI. In this capacity he is responsible for all activities and
services provided including tax, accounting, financial planning, assisting new business start ups,
sales, income and payroll tax services, and more. John is also responsible for all administration of this
CPA firm which includes degreed accountants under his direction. John works closely
with other financial professionals at New England Financial, a securities and insurance firm
in Brookfield, WI.
Prior to his present position, John was briefly the Managing Editor for
seven nationally-distributed newsletters with CPA Services, Inc. in Brookfield, WI. John was
responsible for managing the writing and editing staff which provided the newsletters with
professional articles on accounting, auditing, financial consulting, computers, software,
managing CPA firms, digest of professional materials and more to subscribers throughout the US.
John also held the position of Fiscal Director for the Jewish Community Center of Milwaukee, Inc.
At the JCC, John was responsible for the complete overhaul of accounting, budgeting, and
reporting aspects of this large not-for-profit company and reported directly to the Executive
Director. John has experience in the design of accounting, computer, and reporting structures as
well as oversight for personnel in the areas of accounting, maintenance, and secretarial functions.
He has also worked for two other CPA firms: Ritz, Holman in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Parent, Dott and
Company in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
John Brandt has experience in the industries of Retail, Manufacturing, Food and Consumer Products,
Trade, Health Care and Not-for-Profit Organizations, as well as many others. John has specialization
in Financial and Governmental Reporting and Employee Benefit Plans. He also has experience in
understanding and documenting a wide variety of accounting information systems and analyzing and
designing internal control systems to include both preventative and detective controls. John has
worked with many entrepreneurs in establishing or enhancing their operations by consulting with
them in tax, accounting, financial and reporting areas.
John holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (1977)
with a major in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Wisconsin and a
member of the American and Wisconsin Institutes of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the
National Association of Tax Professionals. In addition, John is licensed in the state of Wisconsin
for Series 6, Series 66, Health and Life Insurances.
John has also been a member of the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Opera Theatre since 2007,
and has served as President from 2009 to today.
John's outside interests include his family, theater, singing, golf, volleyball, bowling, movies
and all sorts of fun!
